Bug: Camera Speed slider goes to 0

by Tom Spilman · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/02/2009 (1:59 pm) · 5 replies

The camera speed slider accessible from the toolbar in the WorldEditor when slid all the way to the left goes to 0... which is a fairly unuseful value.

Having it go to 1... or even better yet... have it do fractional amounts < 1 at the left most part of the slider, would be much better.

Also a little feature request... add hard ticks to the slider instead of free movement. Seems to me it would feel better to use that way. I don't need to slide the slider to any *exact* value... thats what the text box is for.

We only have 10 and lower as usable "small detail work" settings, and i find myself using 2 or 4 most the time. Many setting scales ranges seem redundant(IE: no true usable difference between 20 and 80 a large numerical range = a very small change in camera speed). Ergo camera speed settings seem to have room for usability optimizations.

Right... maybe make the numbers out of the slider non-linear in some way. From 0.01 to 1 to 10 to 100 to 1000 or something.

I believe Logarithmic is the word, for such a non-linear scale.

We could definetely try these ideas. I agree hard ticks and non linear growth would be nice features.

Edit: And yea..no going down to zero
