Hey all, I have done a search on this and there are no solutions to my problem.

In blender when I run it no splash screen pops up which causes the menus to go buggy and also my box selection and area selection causes the cursor to go away :(

This did not happen to me on my laptop, only on my computer.

My Laptop:

Operating System: Windows Vista Basic
Processor: 2.00 GHz
RAM: 2.00 GB
System Type: 32-Bit
Graphics Card/Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Chipset Family
Hard Drive: 160 GB

My Computer:

Operating System: Windows Vista Basic
Processor: 3.00 GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB
System Type: 32-Bit
Graphics Card/Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Chipset Family
Hard Drive: 250 GB

Now on my laptop Blender works perfectly but on my computer it doesnt, if any can help me I would appreciate it alot, THANKS :D

[EDIT]
FIXED!!

I just had to update my driver :(

Funky enough when using Blender on Windows Vista one tend to get buggy menus and a few odd freezeup's. Nothing really serious.

Although one can work fine with it if you can manage the oddity of the menus.. I've also noticed box select mode and brush select mode to have the guides dissapear, as you've already said.

Good that you fixed it, i guess a driver update was enough to get it working like it should.
