Doesn't run on Vista Ultimate even with Updates

#1 i had the same problem that resolved itself as soon as i had installed the march 2009 DX SDK

#2 That is with the march 2009 sdk installaed, did all 3 installations prior to running it

#3 Yeah be sure to install the DX March 2009 SDK, there's a sticky in the main Torque 3D Private forum that has links to the needed downloads.

(I dev on Vista Ultimate :)

Could you look in your Genre Kits/FPS Genre Kit/game/console.log to see if there are any clues there? Also, do you happen to have UAC enabled?

How about if you try running:

Genre Kits/FPS Genre Kit/game/FPS Genre Kit.exe directly as Administrator by right clicking on the exe.

#5 Ok, well, i did that prior to installing the torque 3d, like I mentioned above, thanks for the pointer though, both of you. So I'll just try to re-install the sdk and the Torque 3d again and see what results I get.

Cross post, Josh posted at the same time I did, let me look at the log. I have the UAV disabled.

suggestion: use the user folder on Vista, not the app sub folder, this will get around build issues and other known security issuses with vista, make a user projects go into their user folder, create a Torque 3D Projects folder their

I am currently re-installing DXSDK now, so can't try the run as administrator at the moment.

#7 3 versions of Vista here: Premium, Ultimate, Ultimate 64, and all work equally well for me.

#8 me too, server 2008 64bit, runs fine.

#9 Second install of DKSDK fixed it, so it wasn't a full install the first time maybe, who knows.

#10 server 2008 32 bit works here. So we have a full set of working w00t :D
