TGB Crashes Minutes Into Loading

I just downloaded TGB today and it keeps crashing on me. When I
load it up, it runs fine for about 2-5 minutes and then my screen
goes black, but my monitor and computer are still running. I have to
manually shutdown my computer and reboot. This happens 100% of the time
with this application. My other programs such as Maya, Photoshop, AFX, etc., run smooth without problems. This leads me to believe it's not a video card or ram issue (though I could be wrong). I tried both the 1.6.0 and the 1.7.4 versions with no success. I registered before it shut down as well (if that means anything).
I'm running the program on my Mac Pro 3GHz Quad Core using OSX 10.4.11. I have 1 gig of ram and a ATI X1900 video card (with the most recent driver).
What is the issue and how can I prevent this from happening?
If there is a thread with the same problem and a solution can someone
send the link?

No problems with my MacBook. Check the Console app for logs.

The video card is likely overheating. Those ATI X1900's are legendary for overheaing in Macs (just google it). I remember a similar forum post a while back, and while the problem got a little better when the user blew all the dust out of his case/fans/vid card fan - ultimately I think he decided on getting a new card.
