I want to make a game for XNA and I already have a TGEA lisence, I wonder if this engine its worth it or perhaps I should keep working on the TGEA source code.

I know TGEA its a 3D engine, but I dont have much money right now (I´m unemployed right now) I dont know if I should make my own 2D engine or perhaps Torque X its worth the money it cost.
For what I have seen its similar to TGB, TGB its easy to use ( I have tried the demo) but I dont know if its deep enough for I want to do with it...
Kind regards

Well, its a 2D platformer/adventure, similar to games like Metroid or Castlevania: symphony of the night.I know TGEA its a 3D engine, but I dont have much money right now (I´m unemployed right now) I dont know if I should make my own 2D engine or perhaps Torque X its worth the money it cost.

In my opinion TX2D is worth it. It is a bit harder to get used to as TGB since TGB seems to have more users/tutorials/support but after a couple of weeks it should be no problem. The only drawback is that is did not get any major update and there is no roadmap regarding this engine.

Compiled and ran perfectly under XNA 3.0 using VS2008 as well. the first thing I did was put stuff on the XBOX to make certain it worked.
I'd look at the cost as you can buy 3 books, or TX.

I have to say it was worth it for me. I was getting pretty frustrated with re-inventing the wheel, it saved me tons of time. My son is working on artwork and can use the XNA GameBuilder to work on assets. It's really streamlined stuff for us.Compiled and ran perfectly under XNA 3.0 using VS2008 as well. the first thing I did was put stuff on the XBOX to make certain it worked.

I would check out the demo if you already have a copy of Visual C# 2005 (Microsoft stopped distributing it recently). If you don't, then you have to buy it to compile it on Visual C# 2008 to use with XNA 3.0. The other reference that I would definitely recommend is the official Torque X Documentation. The most useful for you in making your decision would probably the concepts sections as well as checking the tutorials out.Brian
