i opened up one of my (very low poly) models today and wanted to unwrap them for a friend of mine so he could skin the motherf*cker.
i had found a very good and clean tutorial some time ago on how to uvw unwrap but due to some idiotic problems i lost it. maybe u guys know where to find it perhaps.
it was a tutorial on how to unwrap a 3d model in 3DS MAX and it was on a website from the UT2003 game. it used a suitcase as an example...
i ran a google search and several other websites but i cant find it anymore. plz let me know if you know more about it. other tutorials on this subject wich u guys might find usefull are also good ofcourse.
hope for a quick reply,

Or perhaps you mean this tutorial. that describes the method that Joe Maruschak uses to create custom UVW coordinates for models that he does?Logan

If you are starting off on max 5 or 5.1 I suggest you use the built in functionality as covered by the tutorials that come with max, they are straight forward and integrated with the product. If you need something (modern) and easy lith unwrap is a joy to behold.-brad
