Strange compiling issue

Hey everyone. I'm new here. Just purchased TGEA. It seems great but I have a really strange problem.

I'm compiling TGEA 1.8.1 with MSVC 2008 on Vista 64. Often (maybe always) when I do a full rebuild my computer just instantly shutsdown. I know it's bizarre. When I restart I have always found a corrupt pdb which I need to delete. Then it recompiles the main project and links and everything is cool. I can work around this but it kind of freaks me out. Any ideas?

Have you downloaded patches and service packs for it?

Great question Ted. But after checking it looks like I'm up to date.
I have SP1 installed for VS 2008. And Windows Update tells me Vista is up to date.

I guess from the lack of responses no one else has seen this issue. Is anyone else running Vista 64 with MSVC 2008?

Just for follow-up I've isolated this problem to my CPU overheating. I've replaced the CPU fan and the idle temp went from 85C to 45C.
