Designers listen to their characters

As game designers and programmers, we should listen to the gamers. But this article recently came to my attention. Are we abusing our characters?

Well, they got a point. We all want to design games, we all want to play games, but if you ask me - do I want to LIVE in games, answer will definetly be "No, for Christ sakes!"

Depends on the game and my qualities in them... I would love to live in an RPG like Morrowind and be a powerfull sorcerer... :)

Every time I show an Onion article that cracks me up to freinds and family, the reaction is always "ho-hum". Makes me wonder if my sense of humor sucks or theirs....nah, it's gotta be theirs.

Don't worry Jeremy, I agree that the article (and almost all Onion articles for that matter) are hillarious. I have found that some people don't realize that they are purely meant to be jokes, so they try to project them into the real world or use them as a metaphor. Anyway great article, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

If I changed the life of just one person...it was all worth it. I didn't...by any chance....change your life...did I?

Man! We gotta start thinking about the characters and making their existence more enjoyable. It shouldn't JUST be about the gamers...should it?
