Game Builder freezes Vista after being minimized

So I just installed Game Builder 1.7.4 on my new computer that runs Vista. GB keeps freezing Vista when I restore it from being minimized or after switching to another program. A couple times it has made some beeping sounds and gave me back control, but the rest of the time I have had to reset my computer.
I have it set to run in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode.
Any suggestions?

i know there's some ppl that kinda got it sorted out, but i haven't seen how they do it... this question has been asked quite a lot, since thats a real concern when you try and sell your stuff thru some of the online vendors.i hope Amaranthia, o maybe Tovy see this and give us a hint of how to do fix it.

Well, at least it isn't just me that has had this problem. Now, I just wish I could figure out how to fix it.

Thats weird. I have Vista and haven't had any problems. Have you tried re-downloading and installing again to see if it still does it?

Yep. Did that a couple times. What's the latest version anyway? The latest version I have access to is 1.7.4.

@David, its weird, but trust me, the bug is there... i 1st heard it from Tovy (a respected dev in here), and i think i heard it from Amaranthia too...

I'd start by updating DirectX and the graphics drivers, then disabling that crappy Aero thing. Back to classic interface. This has solved problems in many things.
When you're using DirectX rendering in an app, you're racing for attention with Aero. Supposedly Vista disables Aero when you go fullscreen, but it seems they forgot some games/tools are windowed. In any case, the OS should have a graceful fault behaviour for when a program does something it doesn't like.

If something, anything, freezes an OS, there may be a bug in that thing, but the FAULT lies with the OS ;)I'd start by updating DirectX and the graphics drivers, then disabling that crappy Aero thing. Back to classic interface. This has solved problems in many things.

So, my next step is to reboot into Vista and disable Aero. I can't remember if I had tried that or not.
Is there any way it could be related to my hardware?

Ok, it's been a long time since I was working on this. But I just tried installing Gamebuilder 1.74 under Windows 7 RC. It still freezes exactly the same as it does under Vista. So, my next step is to reboot into Vista and disable Aero. I can't remember if I had tried that or not.
