I got the demo for TGe, i was actually satisfied with its graphics ( not for an Fps game but for an RTS game, the ain't half bad) are they really as good as the demo makes tem look?

Look at some of Apparatus' earlier content packs for TGE. He made TGE shine and look spectacular. When he ported his content packs to TGEa that content didn't suddenly look any better, although the bonus of normal and specular maps was cool.

Yeah, what Ted said. Look at some of Apparatus' earlier content packs for TGE. He made TGE shine and look spectacular. When he ported his content packs to TGEa that content didn't suddenly look any better, although the bonus of normal and specular maps was cool.

So we could make a great looking game with TGE?

We have no idea if you can make a great looking game with TGE- mainly because TGE isn't going to make your art for you. It just renders it. And if you make crappy art, TGE will render crappy art for you. If you make fantastic art, then TGE will render fantastic art for you. It's not the engine, it's the artist.
Whatever you do, try not to fall into the category talked about in the age-old saying: "A poor workman blames his tools."

That said, yes - the demo uses the exact same engine that's shipped with the game. There's no "tricks" in the demo to make it look better than the "real thing."

It's worth repeating, it's the artist that makes a game look good. TGE won't magically make a poor artist into a good one. Garbage in, garbage out, as the saying goes. That said, yes - the demo uses the exact same engine that's shipped with the game. There's no "tricks" in the demo to make it look better than the "real thing."

So you are saying it depends on how good we make the models, so it is possible if we have good animators, modelers, and drawers?

@Benjamin - Drawers? No, I don't think it matters what kind of underwear you happen to be wearing. :-)

Have you tried doing a search for "cartoon shader", "penny arcade", "cartoon art", or anything along those lines?

Are those games not made with Torque360? Or is that engine more in line with TGEA?

Torque 360 is an extension of TGEA for the XBox 360. It works with the XDK.
