Need a Java based engine

I'm teacing a high school level Java course, and I am looking for a good 3D Java engine, preferably open source.
The Wild Tangent Web Driver would have been perfect, but I don't think it's available anymore. I saw an engine called the Java Monkey Engine, and it looks fairly good, but it requires like 5 different supplemental programs and/or installs to even get a chance of getting to work, and that may be a bit much to install for every single one of my students since they are all using school computers.
So I need a 3D Java engine that requires maybe 1 or 2 software installations in addition to a JDK / Virtual Machine for Windows, tops.
