Compare source versions

by Barry Gallagher · in General Discussion · 02/19/2009 (5:56 am) · 4 replies

Is there a way to compare two versions of the same source to spot code changes.

For instance, a version of tgea 1.71 and a modified version of tgea 1.71 .
I am trying to log all the changes 1 of our coders made to our source, but he is temporarily MIA for the moment.

What you want is WinMerge.

A lot of things: WinMerge, WinDiff, Compare It!, Beyond Compare, and there are many others. WinMerge works well and is free.

You should also look into versioning control: CVS/SVN - with TortoiseSVN being easiest to setup and use.

WinMerge +1.

I've tried about a zillion windows diff utilities including some fairly expensive ones and i keep coming back to WinMerge. it's solid.

I have downloaded winMerge.

But now I need a base copy of TGEA 1.03 to investigate what the coder changed.
Anybody care to oblige?

I have ftp space ..
