Torque Programmer
ESAL, Kirkland WA; a research and development laboratory of Cogswell Polytechnical College, Sunnyvale CA, is looking for a talented programmer to work on a project sponsored by a major company located in Seattle.Work Schedule
Part time/hourly on site(up to 32 hours per week)
Overview
The successful candidate will work on game like simulations (i.e. serious games). ESAL is more interested in creativity and passion than years of experience. Team members work in a casual environment on large impact projects and regularly interact with the sponsor.Responsibilities
Work with Torque Game Engine:• Maintain it and extend its features
• Design, code, and implement new functionality
• Migrate to new versions of Torque as needed
Qualifications and Abilities
The successful candidate must be able to work within an established code base and have a strong knowledge of:• C++
• Microsoft Visual Studio development environment
• Code Design
Experience in any of the following is desired (not required):
• OpenGL
• DirectX
• General 3D or 2D rendering code knowledge
• Networking concepts, particularly of the UDP protocol
• PERL
• Action Script
• MEL
• Game Engine scripting languages
• Torque Game Engine
Skills and Characteristics
Successful candidate must have a have a passion for creating new systems and features within Torque and must demonstrate the ability to:• Work efficiently in a small team
• Communicate clearly and solve problems creatively
• Have a strong work ethic and self motivation
• Be an independent thinker and quick learner
• Handle a variety of technical roles simultaneously
Education
A Degree, ideally in Computer Science is desired (not required).How To Apply
