Programmer looking for small prjects

by Tom Biagioni · in Jobs · 02/16/2009 (12:46 pm) · 12 replies

Hi everyone,

Currently i am a student at Devry University, and i should be getting my bachelors of science and game and computer simulation in about a year. I am expirienced in C++, C#, some Lua, and recently Torque script. Im about to complete two projects for school using TGE. One is a FPS, and the other is a 3rd person. As you can see i do have good expirience in programming, math, physics, some AI, but i still have alot of learning to do.

What i would like is to join a already established team , and make small game from start to finish. This would be great for both expirience, and my portfolio. Id like an established team becuase far too many times have i been offered to start a team by someone, and nothing ever ends up happening

if this sounds good let me know =)

The project I am starting to work on is not small, but we break it into small chunks. Current chunk is validation of key concepts and prototyping against those concepts to validate them.

In the time frame you are looking at, the project would not complete. But if we do manage to pull it off, it would be a decent portfolio piece.

You can read a bit more about it in the thread linked below and give me a holler if it sounds interesting:

Cheers and best of luck.

I am working on a baseball game which will be using T3D. It already has establish art assets. Such as character models and a stadium, bats catcher masks etc. You can see more at www.MMOBASEBALL.org. We are needing a chat room modification added or a mysql database master server connection to save stats. Either way they might be good projects for your resume and they are bite size bits.

Dear Mr Biagioni,
I'm interested in obtaining your assistance with a MMORTS project. This is by no means a small project, however, I feel you are one of the people we'd like to have working alongside us. If you are interested, you may contact me or my co-developer.

Tom,

I'd like to recommend www.ZDAYGAME.com as a great project. We've done a couple rounds of pre-alpha testing, and are preparing for the next test.

Check out the screenshots and teaser videos (teasers on YouTube), and if you want more information you can contact me directly at infinitum3d at hotmail, or contact Braveheart (founder), Bariel (Lead Programmer), or ChrisG (AI Programmer) at www.zdaygame.com for more information.

I hope to hear from you!

Hello Tom,
I am with a small Indie company called Co-Op Games.
We are looking to build 2-3 titles using the new Torque 3D engine.
We will need someone that has a very good understanding of Torque,
We would like to discuss what we can do together and maybe be able to help one another.

We are planning on building a Fantasy Mini MMO as the 1st title, then
have plans for a SCIFI Mini MMO right behind that . Plus expansions.
If this sounds like something you may be interested in please give me a shout.

We can take care of all the Art, Audio and Game Engineering design.

Thank you,

Michael Daniel

That sounds exactly what I would like to be a part of Mike! It would be great for Tom and you to collaborate on a mini game. I would be very interested in offering my skills as a Modeler and animator to your team. Do you have any art assets created? I would love to see what you have done so far. I have been a part of a large game company for 5 years and I would like to get involved with a smaller more tight knit team. Post some screens of your game if you have anything Mike. Thanks!

Hello Tom,

I'm developing a small team to create Development products for TGB. I'm the owner of No Comp Studios a new independent game development studio. We are currently working on our first project and it is small in scope but expandable by design. The job isn't req's intermediate level scripting at most but may give new programmers some frustration. If your interested in contributing to a project that will be released please email me. glenn@nocompstudios.com

Hi, i need to put bump maps in TGE 1.52, that works like another material, using OpenGl generic extension ARB_texture_env_dot3.

I can code and load the extension, but i am stuck in the cubemap - lighting; load, unload - zombie the textures...

See this link:

¿ how much is the cost ?
