Game Jolt - Project Hosting for Games

Hey guys, this is the lead developer of a new site (gamejolt.com) that went live around a month and a half ago. Just looking for some people that would be willing to try the service out.

Anyway, the low down:

Game Jolt allows developers to host and publicize their freeware games.

- Unlimited number of files can be uploaded for your game. Up to 100 MB per file.
- Able to post news articles for each game.
- Screenshots can be uploaded, which can then be embedded on other sites/forums, etc.
- Video uploading. Up to 100 MB per video. High quality and embeddable on other sites.
- You can upload the soundtrack for your game and it will stream on your game's profile page.
- Developer blogs.
- Gamers can comment/rate your games.

It's all run by the developers themselves, so you have full control of how your games are displayed on our site.

We're currently trying to get as many developers and games as we can. Old games, new games, and even work-in-progresse/incomplete games are welcome. You don't even need to have a file for your game to add it to the site. If you sign up and enjoy the site, it'd be great if you told other developers you know and spread the word.

We'd appreciate any feedback you may have on the site, or ideas/criticism.

Also, since the site is fairly new, we're trying to get it out there and publicize it. If anyone has recommendations for sites/blogs to contact, it would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ted!

Maybe some users would find use in uploading some tech demos or test games they've developed.

Interesting idea; looks like a great way for freeware developers to get the word out on their project. I'm guessing that's the intention behind the site, rather than being a place where dev teams can coordinate themselves?

Hey, Daniel, glad you asked.

Currently it is geared towards getting your game out there quickly and easily. However, we're currently now researching and developing some features to help with the actual collaboration and development process of making a game. For example, we plan on possibly offering SVN/CVS repositories, project forums (private/public), bug trackers, todo lists and even Web space for their game's site.

We're trying to get feedback and opinions as to what other developers would like. Do you have any features in mind that would help in the development process?
