Transgaming/Linux report

Just so people know, it doesn't appear to work under winex. It installs fine (even puts a shortcut with icon on my desktop!), but the executable doesn't run.

Guess the linux junkies among us will have to wait for the native version ;)

That's odd. I have gotten torque working fine under wineX.. even had that demo that was released...I cant remember the name of it.

Yes, I've torque to work with winex and other games. The problem may be related to ignition, but who knows.

I'm amazed at the shortcut because winex is _emulating_ that. Even most native linux installers don't do that correctly :)

It might be that we used UPX to pack the Marble Blast exe - and it does some funky stuff to build the address space and manually load the uncompressed code. I think that upx can de-upx executables, so you might try that (upx.sourceforge.net)

Honestly this is silly. Torque runs fine natively on Linux. Trying to get this game running through wineX is counter productive.

John...Are you trying to get it running through winex because noone's given you the code so you can compile it on Linux? I'm kinda confused...You seem to be the go to guy for native Linux ports.

I was just impatient to play marble blast so I thought I'd try this experiment. But I saw that there is going to be a linux version eventually so no need to worry about this.
