New People Assembly

Are you new on TGB Forums? Do you have trouble with tutorials? What the heck is a datablock and how does it pertain to a Simobject?

My name is Justin Mayhew, I am an art student learning the ropes of TGB and all that Torquescript can throw at me. I wanted to start this thread to have new people make a post and tell about themselves. Maybe we can start a game group and help each other out with stuff. Many hands make light work or something to that effect.

(Note: I read some other sections of the Forums, I think this is the best place to start a beginner TGB club, right?)

Yeah forums are a good place to start. You might also look at TheGreatGamesExperiment which I think is by Garagegames. You can set up groups there to organize too. Also, I just found out that there is a few Game programmers groups in Portland, where I live. I just attended my first get together. It's weird to be in a room full of people that like to create games for the love of it, I didn't know people like me really existed until then.

Thanks for the post, Nic. And good luck to you and your programming! I was having trouble locating the great games experiment?
That would be awesome to find a bunch of local people who are interested in gaming as well in my area. The hard part is finding them.

Currently I don't have so much time to look into TGB but I take it out and try to learn stuff now and then.
Sounds like a good idear, with the games group.
