Here is a quote from Alex Rodberg, alias Marweas :
As you can read the last sentences may give us some highlights about the possibility of a new tribe game.
Quote:
When we make another Tribes game
(I'm still thinking of a good name)
Skiing will require skill -
No speed cap, and skiing uphill.
The graphics rock - worlds come alive -
But won't require a GeForce 5.
Lance, bomber, tank, I doubt they'll go
But they'll be better this time though.
We learned our lesson about forums -
They're the domain of those who whore 'em.
An open beta early on
Will help make sure the bugs are gone
So it's a given that we'll have one
And only launch when it is done.
Can't trust a weasel not to lie
But cross my fingers, hope to die
No more a question - may or might
The next Tribes game got a green light.
As you can read the last sentences may give us some highlights about the possibility of a new tribe game.

Apparently, they're saying they've learned from their past mistakes... all umpteenth billion of them. Let's hope it comes out working. :)

Another remake of a game with a unrealistic combat system, yay. I think they might stick hercs in there to appease storyliners, but they'll be tweaked down so that Tribals can kill them.Apparently, they're saying they've learned from their past mistakes... all umpteenth billion of them. Ya thats one thing that sucked about T2 at launch....crashes/busted buddylist/email/forums/browser people got fed up and alot really disliked T2 over T1. They need to find a way to do better direct damage weapons cuz spashdamage and spam type weapons suck.

Maybe its just me, but I never had a single serious problem with T2 in terms of crashing or visual artifacts, or FPS being really low.
The patches though... man... that one time they released the wrong patch, that was funny.

I have never had a single problem with the Tribes series (except the T1 bomber, a transport with a mortar on it. That drove me nuts) Anyway, I would more than happily buy a third Tribes, unless it was developed by some small backwater company with a history of sucking the big one. Bottom line: I like vehicles, and any game that has vehicles that you can use I like. Even Red Faction.

You're one of the lucky...at this point, 2 that didn't have problems. I guess you only played for 2-3 minutes at a time and had a really good computer at the time.T1 for life :)

I'm still playing it. It's seriously one of the best games I've ever played. For me it's all about the teamwork, and I just love the fact that that is the main emphasis of the game.
It's also really cool that it was ported to Linux. I never experienced any of the bugginess most win users seemed to complain about. :)
