To anyone who knows about the Darkstar engine, transition objects, and a program called ShowTool:

Read lower down in the thread to the part where it starts talking about getting herc transition animations to work...

So does anyone know where the version of ShowTool used in the development of Starsiege (and Tribes 1 I assume) can be found?

My understanding is that ShowTool is just that, a tool for showing the model and its animations. Not editing them. 3DSMAX was used for that with the exporter. Joe Maruschak would be the one to talk to on the models. He did some of the SS ones.
You would have an easier time just building a new game with Torque. Good luck with it though.

It's owned by Sierra. They'd be the one to ask for the info. I doubt they'd give up the code though. My understanding is that ShowTool is just that, a tool for showing the model and its animations. I don't know where you got your info at Sentinal but the hercs were made with 3d max 2.5 and the plugin from tribes tools. I've already make a couple of test hercs that moved fine in the game. Yes the sequences are linked to transitions but all that comes with the ViconCombiningExporter.DLO Place you sequence and animate it, bind your object to the sequence, then apply a transion effect and edit the track view. I am currently working on a tutoral with videos on how to use 3d max 2.5 with starsiege. Only tools used to create starsiege was script editor, 3d max 2.5, and Zed editor.
