3rd Person dynamic camera

Seen a bunch of resources, but can't seem to find an exact match to a dynamic 3rd person camera....ala Zelda, Fable... so the camera is slightly "off" following the player in 3rd person. I did use Thomas Lund's resource, but it didn't do exactly what I needed, (Did add some really cool camera modes), but I wanted what Josh Moore refered to...a Zelda: WindWalker like camera.... any resources to do exactly that? or maybe I missed something....or an explanation on how to do this for the knob C++ programmers like myself... :) I've dug through the code and changed some stuff, but everything crashes... I don't know what I'm doing well enough yet...help would be appreciated...
