Bloom Change in 1.8.0?

Not sure if this is a bug or not:

The behavior of Bloom lighting appears to have changed in 1.8.0. There are several differences, but one of the easiest to describe is that while the feathering of the bloom effect used to surround its source pixel in all directions, it now seems to extend only down and to the right.

Is anyone else seeing something along these lines?

I haven't been able to clearly reproduce this. Do you have a couple of screenshots or a test scene that demonstrates the issue?
