Brushes Dissapearing In-Game

by Marcem · in Artist Corner · 12/20/2008 (9:53 pm) · 2 replies

I had made an interior, and at some points I used the knife tool or to avoid lightmap errors, but when I look in game, some brushes are gone, and it asks me export two LODs in Constructor, what can I do to stop this?

Are you using the most up to date version of Constructor? An upgrade patch to 1.0.51 can be found on the Constructor page on TDN.

Disappearing brushes/faces can be caused by any number of factors. Make sure you don't have bad geometry - look for red lines. Check that the offending face is penetrating into nearby brushes and that it's not being penetrated. If all brush are snapped tight and flush to each other then you may need to go through the export options and disable Hidden Surface Removal (HSR) sometimes Constructor gets a little carried away with removing brushes/faces that it thinks can't be seen.

I think that a guide to using LOD can be found on TDN. Also look for Apparatus' Interior guide PDF. If it wasn't almost three in the morning and the world wasn't spinning quite so fast I'd leave you links but I hope that helps.

Hmm, none of that really helps, I'm trying to make it all one LOD, because it created another, and they are both 0.
