Advertising in the TDN

Are advertisements for pay-sites really appropriate for the TDN?
I skimmed through the TDN policies and Meta page, and saw nothing restricting commercial entries. Personally, I think we need a formal policy about advertisements, or we'll wind up with battling spam competing for the top of every TDN page. Every putz who wanders through the forums will be harvesting information and putting it up for sale at $14.95 a pop.
If this kind of crap is to be permitted on what's supposed to be a community resource, at the very least, we should distinguish between the pay sites and free information.
That's my furiously-hoarded $.02....

I've had private conversations with the team that created this product. I've got nothing against the product or the site, as I've even linked to some of their free tutorials in the past. However, if it's not an actual document or tutorials users can read it does not belong on TDN.
That's why we have blogs, snapshots, and resources on the main site.
