Help needed on TGEA licensing

by Saravanan · in Torque Game Engine · 11/18/2008 (10:03 pm) · 6 replies

Hi,

We bought TGEA license from one of the vendor in India. We were registered with the following Email ID
sai.sundar@sifycorp.com. We were told by the vendor that we can login with this ID and have to click forgot password to get our password. We tried it numerous time but didnt receive any mail. We even wrote it to garagegames support a month ago but yet to get any help. Atlast when posting a question in compliers forum one of your employee replied we werent registered and so not supposed to receive any help. I wrote him back the above mentioned problem. He replied he will see it to it. it has been a week but yet to get any reply. So i have been trying to sort this out for past one & half month and garage games support has done nothing to help me. Iam a great fan of Torque game engine and trying everything in my capability to promote torque in my office. But with this kind of support from garage games my efforts are going in vain. My management is slowly losing their patience. This is my and your last chance. Pls help us to sort this out

First of all, you already have a thread about this, please don't make duplicate threads, and you're already receiving help in that thread. Second, its only been five days. Stuff like this can take a little time as people may be out of the office in Eugene, and if Mich said he's going to help you get to the bottom of it, trust me, he will.

Honestly, from what you've described in both threads I think you're going to be finding out that your company bought a non-legit license. Such is the price one pays for not buying through the proper channels.

Scott's right. I don't think the license for TGEA is transferable at all. You should find the vendor, ask for a refund, and purchase the engine here on the GG site.

Honestly if I were them, I wouldn't even care to answer - this could as well be a scam to social engineer the access out of GG. But these guys are a lot nicer than I am. :)

I wasn't even aware that GG sells through a reseller, legitimate or otherwise. If GG does use resellers, then that's news to me, otherwise, I'd say you got scammed. Either way, I think your problem lies with the reseller, not GG. But I'll let them tell you that ;p

@Brian - I will not divulge the private dealings between GG and Saravan, but I will say that there is NO reseller for Torque products. The aforementioned reseller is going to be getting an e-mail and call from me later today.

@Saravan - You will be receiving an e-mail from me today.

Thanks a lot for the support. Iam realy pleased with the support, i have got now. Since it has been a month since i wrote to garagegames support, I was bit pissed off. But you guys proved me wrong and particularly michael thanks for all your support. I hope our association will cherish more and will be pleasant hereafter.

We had a reseller in China, but they are not active AFAIK (and Michael's comment makes me think that they are not active anymore). They were the only reseller that we have worked with, though others have requested.

This company, however, does not have a license as a reseller and *NO ONE* should purchase the engine from *ANYONE* other than GarageGames.
