Just ordered the book

Bitching on
I just ordered the book because I was tired of waiting for TX documentation project.
TX has been out for quite sometime and I'm wondering why such a lack of documentations.
I'm not sure what the book contains but it better be good since GG decide to publish it instead sharing with the community.

Hehe, I just ordered it today myself. Looking forward to reading through it over the weekend :)

Yeah, I'm about halfway through it. Definitely gives a better idea of how the engine was supposed to work.

I also ordered the book, partly for the same reason. I recently received it, and while it's much lighter on the 3D stuff than I'd hoped and not as in-depth on engine internals as I might have wanted, I am quite happy I purchased it.
Not as happy as my son is, though. He's been reading it practically cover to cover every day, and is using it to work through a 2D scrolling shooter game. He's made tremendous progress, faster than he ever made in straight-XNA, and is having an absolute blast!

I love the book. John did an excellent job and I stated before it has my seal of approval. I'll actually be using some of its excerpts in the new docs shipping out next week.

Actually, in my case, the only problem I have is that if you just buy Torque X Builder, you can't get any information about the API, what is actually exposed, what libraries to include, and what libraries do what. I will be getting a TX Pro license as soon as I can spare some change but might not be after the holiday. Keep up the good work. ;)

@Brian - Lucky for you I'm generating brand new API docs for TX Core, TX2D, and TX3D. All of which will be available online and offline for every TX owner. These docs are dependent on the engine developer's comments, so they will be ongoing.

Hey, looks like the documentation got updated. I haven't looked in awhile and didn't see any announcement about it. I just wanted to say thanks! MUUUUUUUCH better!

Well, I didn't make an announcement yet because I'm pushing new TGEA docs online tomorrow as well. I'm also gearing up new docs for iTGB to be released at the end of this week. Then when I get back from South Carolina I'm updating TGEA, TorqueX, and iTGB again with new tutorials and updated docs....
I figured I should hold off on an announcement or blog till all that is done. The December wrap-up should be a doozy =)

Nice... I thought I had missed it. I guess I just happened to get lucky then. Well, good luck with everything. Thanks again! It is MUCH appreciated.

Early impression on
I just got my copy today. The first chapter alone solved 2 issues that I'd had with my game already (obscure options hidden in TXB) so I'd say it's worth it. I've also skimmed a couple of later chapters and it seems way better than the tutorials/documentation available.
