Can't Access The TDN...?

by David Taylor · in Torque Developer Network · 11/16/2008 (2:38 pm) · 85 replies

For the last few days, I've been trying to gai access to the TDN. If I try, I get taken to the following link: http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/&needLogin=1

There, I am asked to log in, even though I'm clearly logged in here. So I click on the login button, and the browser spents quite a while loading, before showing a blank screen at this link: http://tdn.garagegames.com//wiki/reply.php?result=1&id=60533&time=ec272714977bce307ad7332bbc69b2c6&hash=e336324dacde1f85ede7c424e11b829d

There are things that I really want to access at the TDN, but I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Can anyone help?

I think my problem may be different, I've tried Google Chrome, Firefox 3, and IE7. In Google Chrome, when I press the login link, I get this error:

This webpage has a redirect loop.

The webpage at http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TorqueGameEngine&needLogin=1 has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

I tried clearing the cookies but, no luck.

Edit: also, LOL @ GMT.

Edit again: I was also wondering if there was somewhere other than the TDN where I could get the Constructor updates (needed badly, as I had to reinstall back down to 1.0.3)

Alright. I need a few people to try accessing TDN. Try the following links, and let me know what works.

1. TDN Home
2. Try logging in
3. Tell me whether the top right of the page says you are logged in or not
4. TGB
5. Rainy Day Tutorial
6. TGE
7. TS Reference

If you could respond with a simple format, it will help me expedite the debugging/fixing process. Example:

1. Got to TDN
2. Login link worked (no error page)
3. Returned to main page, showed me logged in (or not logged in)
4. Worked
5. Worked
6. Bad link, "Cannot find page"
7. Bad link, "Cannot find page"

I only need about 4 or 5 responses, thanks for the patience everyone!

everything working fine for me, logged out, logged back in, can see all links (yeah have all engines), so all links are working for me. could be related to account(s)?
I'm on Firefox 3.0.5 as main browser.
Tryed Opera 9.63 (never used opera before for accessing TDN) -- after logging in - everything work fine.

1. Got to TDN
2. Used top right login
3. Logged in using username option
4. Take back to TDN with "Login Required Page"
5. Clicked on the "click here to login in"
6. Got taken to TDN Home (all the products)
7. Clicked on TGEA and it worked.

I think the problem is, when you do the remote login, it appears that you aren't logged in because it goes to the "Click Here To Login" page - but the credentials seems to have been saved in a cookie anyway, allowing you to click on "click here to login" and it allows you in.

1: Got to TDN
2: Used top right login
3: Logged in, and loops back to login page where it says, "Login Required"
4: Still loading.... forever...? back to "Login Required"
5: Still loading... "Page Load Error"
6: Loading... back to "Login Required"
7: Loading... ... back to "Login Required"

Basically, nothing is working for me.

1: Got to TDN
2: Used top right login
3: Logged in, and loops back to login page where it says, "Login Required"
4: Upper right corner shows only Login/Register
5: I clicked "Click here to Login!" and it automatically logged me in.

No problems after that. Cleared my cookies and all is ok. Did notice it no longer uses my loginID but instead my email address.

Sooo... No issues from here.

*** For those of you who could not login or access any pages at all ***
We have unlocked the wiki, which should allow access if you are logged into GG.

Clear your cache and cookies, then try logging into TDN now and browse pages. Ignore the starter kit pages and focus mainly on the engines.

If you are still unable to get in, please e-mail me at michaelp@garagegames.com.
