TGEA 1.8.0 Mac Bug. No Sound in T3D demo

I've been trying to run all the demos on my iMac 1.86 Ghz, 1.5 Mb RAM and 128 VRAM. (iMac 2006).
This is the one I use to run TGEA for Windows using Bootcamp.
So far, only the T3D demo redering phase initializes (in windowed 800x600 - I need to test others resolutions).
When accessing the setup menu the Volume is set on '0' and cannot be changed, the section is not available because it is greyed out.
