You've got to be kidding me. I need to be able to create my own camera objects. This is fundamental to game development. You're telling me I need to buy the SOURCE CODE ($1000) just to create a camera in my simulation!?! I should be able to do ANYTHING short of adding my own algorithms to the T3D engine, with the script-only version of T3D! Please clarify.

I can clarify that this thread pre-dates the announcement that they were going to make T3D by 2 months, and pre-dates the first working beta by 6 months.

Yeah? And this thread is in the TOP 10 hits when you search the forums for "Camera." If this is supposed to be the cream of the crop, I'm not impressed. Outdated threads shouldn't be on the top 10 hits unless they are timeless in their usefulness.

Although just searching 'camera' is bound to get you all sorts of random results ;P.
Incidentally, there's a good thread in T3D Public discussing camera changes (it's called 'Camera Changes').

Wicked - the search function on GG is notorious for not being... quite up to speed ;P. Someone suggested I try a Google search using (in your case) 'site:torquepowered.com camera', which does work better most of the time.Although just searching 'camera' is bound to get you all sorts of random results ;P.

I will be choosing to control the camera and have the player be an AIPlayer (capable of being controlled independently)
If you plan on doing anything networked, however, I'd steer clear of this solution.
Binary is not supposed to be a solution to make extremely versatile unique games. It's a great starting place, and if you happen to want to make an FPS/Racing/RTS, it might be all you need.
If you understood how much networking and logic has gone into the current camera system, it's be easier to understand why everything's not exposed - YET.
I'm still hoping they expose more things to script for things like the camera system and other stuff.

The "Camera Changes" thread was one I created with those questions, Wicked. The answer is - You must choose between controlling the camera or player. I will be choosing to control the camera and have the player be an AIPlayer (capable of being controlled independently)
If you plan on doing anything networked, however, I'd steer clear of this solution.
