Virtual workspace for game developers

I work for a company that's just released a free virtual workspace (www.GeniusRoom.com). I'm also really involved with game development and for me this is the ultimate workspace for distributed teams. I'm looking for feedback from you guys so that we can further tailor the room to do whatever you need it to do.

Right now each room has chat, private messaging, powerpoint presentation, 5GB of file storage, and a discussion board. You can access it from a browser (no download), or through a windows client (which also notifies you of activity). We also have an add-in for teleconferencing that you would have to pay for, but it is only $5 per month plus the cost of the minutes.

Within the next month or so we'll be adding desktop sharing, and a blackberry client. What else should we be working on? Is this something that you would use for your team? What do you use that is similar (and what do you pay for it)?

We're trying to raise awareness and build a community, so if you like the GeniusRoom please tell your friends.

Below are some screenshots of other fun add-ons that I'm working on. The first is a 3d chat plugin. The second is a full 3d workspace download. I am making these just by connecting to our soap webservice, so let me know if you'd like to build some sort of addon (we're building a marketplace).

Isaac, me and my team mates are currently using Assembla, that use to have a free option, but the last days they are offering the free service only for open source projects.

The current plan for private projects has a cost similar to yours, offering some essencial services for this activity: SVN, Wiki, and ticketing software (Trac or their own simplified system). Thats a trio you should take in mind if considering the software industry. Also image hosting, and "little" forums per preject would do good.

Its a bit too much, but they are just ideas!

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the tip - I like how they integrate with SVN. Was it easy to set up? Also, do you guys use anything for conference calls?

Yes, it was pretty straightforward to setup; besides the tools itselves, much of the added value is on the simplified process to deploy new tools: "one-click deployment".

For conference calls they provide a jabber server, but on our team we use just chat (ie gtalk, msn, etc).
