A suggestion for this forum

I have a suggestion for those looking to put a team together. It would be really helpful to know what City and in which country you are in. I think a lot of projects can be done with a long distance setup but I truly believe that to get a project complete with a small team in a fairly short time period it would be best to be able to get together in the same room and "crunch" once in a while to really get some stuff done.
Let me know what you guys think of this.
An example would be to put this right in the title of your thread (i.e. Looking for a team for RPG game - Edmonton, Alberta Canada).
Just a thought.

There aren't a lot of people that reply to adds anyway so the chances of one of those few being from the same area/city is quite remote indeed.

Actually i don't think location has much to do with a successful team - just how things are organised, managed and the commitment of the team members. There aren't a lot of people that reply to adds anyway so the chances of one of those few being from the same area/city is quite remote indeed.

While I agree with Andy that a good team can work from anywhere, most of us are hobbyists, and therefore proximity to other teammates makes it far easier to work as a team. If I e-mail a teammate, who has a famly a job and many other responsibilities, a reply could take days. But if I go down the street and knock on the door, I can get results much faster. And if two or three people sit together in a room looking at the same screen, they all know what is going on.My opinion,

No organization or managment can make up for a team of non interested unwilling names on the poster.
That being said, some of our most delivering moments have actually been from 'roomcrunches' with the chat going on as well with the rest of the globally located guys.
