Looking for a few people to help..

Hi,

Some of you may have seen my other posts on here looking for advice on how to do things in torque. Let me introduce myself. I have been a gamer for almost 20 years now. I spent the last four years with a group of people fleshing out a game that we were to build. We had programmers and 3d modelers and I was the content producer. To make a long story short the team fell apart before anything got done. One's husband was deployed to Iraq and so on, until I was the last one left.

I was left with a company with no funding and no employees but myself. I decided to purchase TGE and due to real life constraints have not had a chance to learn it very well. As time went by I decided to resurrect the company and the game concept.

I am looking for a few people to help me learn torque as we work on constructing a prototype so I can go to investors and say here is the proof of concept and this is our plan. My goal is to produce a RPG (single player) to gain experience for myself and the team. The next step would be to make an online RPG kind of like how NeverWinter Nights is. Then finally drawing on all the experience we have learnt is to create an MMORPG. Yes I know the MMO is a massive undertaking that is the reason I want to start small and have the team and I gain experience.

If anyone is interested, please drop me a line at c.sargent@sbcglobal.net. I will have a design document available within the next three days. This will not be a complete design document as I lack the skills to make it complete myself.

I'm basically looking for scripters, programmers, artists, 3d modelers. At first this will not be paid until we can achieve a working prototype and secure funding. Currently I have two idea/storyline people who will be helping out. Currently I can not provide any tools for those who are interested in working on the project. Right now I plan the prototype to be constructed in TGE eventually moving to TGEA. Once funding is secured the company will be able to provide the tools/lisences for those working on the project.

My strengths are quest design, storyline, and ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to read and any comments are more than welcome.

I read your other post about MMO's Ovoon and I agree with you 100% in my opinion the team and I need to work up the experience for an MMO and I see no better way than starting with a single player RPG.

I have forgotten to include a brief overview of the project. Here it is:

Despair: In the Shadow's Grip will be the first in a series of games based in the persistant world of Tarimar. Players will be able to select one of five different races and choose from ten different classes to venture out into the world. Despair will be created in a classic Role Playing Game (RPG) format. Despair will be a single player RPG. Despair will stand apart from other RPG's by focusing on an advanced quest system as well as multiple ways to improve one's character.

Despair will feature one continent with four major cities, one hidden city, 5 towns, and 4 encampments. The player will be able to decide their fate and the fate of Tarimar by choosing which quests to complete and which not too. Upon beginning the game, the player will learn that an ancient evil has been awoken through the folly of the mages ruling council. The player is brought into a world where mages have been shunned due to their devestating actions and the people of Tarimar are being brought close to extinction as the evil moves about the land.

I don't have a whole lot of time or experience, that being said I'm always up for a chance to gain experience. If you need concept sketches or 2d art (8/16 bit style might be nice) I'll be happy to help in any way I can.

I would be glad to help with GUI, in game objects, a little bit of scripting, 2d art, concept art, or most other art forms. I just need know the agreements like credits, copyright issues, when you plan on getting the game released, etc... So many things need to be arranged when making games.
