Would like to verify the world unit size please, as I can't find info on it anywhere.
is 1 unit = 1 centimeter correct?
So the Orc character in the example file, for example - is 2.3 cm high?

Ok great thank you Thak. So the example Orc file I'm looking at has the incorrect unit setup then, or perhaps this doesn't matter, intriguing. Thanks for your help! :)

Yes unit scale in Max is irrelevant. The exporter uses Max Units not meters or inches or whatever your scale is set to.
Of course its easiest to work and measure if you set 3dsmax to use 1 meter per max unit.
