Risks of using 3D in TGB?

Broadly speaking, does anyone know if there are any "gotchas" or known risks with using DTS objects extensively in TGB?

I understand that there are issues with object orientation and perspective, but that's not a problem for what I'd like to do. I'm more worried about what I need to be aware of in trying to use a lot of low poly models in a single player game.

None that I know of (other than them being hard to work with), but I only use one 3D model as a background object. One thing I've noticed though is that the camera shaking function doesn't affect 3D models. They remain still in the scene while everything else shakes.
