Free Animated or Non-Animated objects?

by Shane09 · in General Discussion · 10/04/2008 (1:45 pm) · 4 replies

Hello, I was wondering if there are any free animated or non-animated objectss that I can export into Torque Game Engine or are already in Torque Game Engine format. As by free, I mean where it won't say I have to use the companies name in the credits.

Thanks.

Also, this thread can be used as a resource to other people looking for animated or/and non-animated objects. Only if some actually get posted here, lol.

EDIT: Actually it doesn't matter if I have to put the name in credits or not because I do not plan on selling this game. I more plan on using it to boost my experience and just let friends play it and stuff. It would be great if I could especially get a player and/or some weapons.

Well, the starter kits are loaded with items. particular the 1.5.2 has the orc, elf, plus the human if recall. the new TGEa even includes the boombot and such. I know the crossbow is also there. As for free, the search box up top is your friend. There is already a entire resource devoted to this.

simply type in free models and go...

search.garagegames.com/search?q=free+models&ie=&site=GarageGames&output=xml_no_d...

This should get you started.

@ Edward
I must be soo dumb. I never thought of using the stuff from the starter kits that come with Torque. I have a couple of questions about that, though. Is that legal to take those items and make a game saying it's a game you made?

EDIT: Also, I noticed they are all in ".rar" format. Well most of them are, anyways. So when I download and try to open them it says "Safari can't open the file 'small_pack.rar' because no available application can open it."

You need a program like winrar (windows) or UnRarX for mac.

then you dont need to worry about the legalities, you are a licenced owner, you can use them in your own games. But if you are going to consider selling it, maybe look at some packs or free models. you should always credit anyone that you used the models from, its good ediquitte.
