3D Models, Texturing.

by GoraShrine · in General Discussion · 09/13/2008 (11:23 pm) · 21 replies

Hello all, I am using Blender and I want to texture my model, yet I don't know how, I have read the Blender tutorials but I want it to be compatible with Torque Game Engine. An example of what I am looking for is similar to this one....http://www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=13555

I want to know how to texture my sword model like that, if anyone knows can you please help me.

Ah thank you, I will try to do as these tutorials say. I will get back to you with my results once I complete them.

Thank you again.

Alright, so it turns out as I tried to make a texture of my model I get a really weird thing, it comes out good so I know how to texture it but the lines of the vertices are shown is there anyway to take these away?

This is the picture i have of my unwrapped model.

This is what I want.

If it is possible is there a way to take away all the vertices points in the image and the lines in the middle in the image?

Okay I have downloaded GIMP and exported my UV image which made it a .tga file then I opened it with GIMP and it turns out the vertices points have gone but the lines in the middle are still there. Is there any other way to take them off without wrecking the model?

Thank you Joseph. Your help has helped me finish texturing my sword (I know it was a test texture but at least I know how to texture now.). Now is there any chance you would know how I could get my human model in Torque Game Engine? His shape is in a T shape like the one in Blender Noob to Pro.

This is odd, I follow your tutorial and when I get up to step 7 to apply deformation to my mesh I get "Deformation only available in modifier buttons", I don't get it why does it say that, I followed all your steps.

I also try to do this within the modifier buttons but it says "Modifier is disabled or returned error, skipping apply."

I did do exactly that and I still got that message.

Hmmm... Could you by any chance do a video tutorial on this? This would help me TONNES if you could do it. Plus it would help everybody else...

P.S If it is okay can you do it about your orange guy.blend because I understand it and I would just like to see that. Thank you.

PP.S I am also using Blender 2.47
