New to TXB question about tilemaps

I'm busy trying to do a quick evaluation of Torque Game Builder and TXB as well as other 2D casual game engines. It seems to me that for traditional platform games TGB supports old fashioned method of tilemaps where you can create one large image containing all your tiles then cut it into tiles within TGB to build levels with. But from what I can see in TXB it does not support this feature rather it requires tiles to each be a seperate image which makes creating a useable tileset somewhat cumbersome.
Can anyone know if I am correct in my assumption or am I missing something in TXB that allows one large tilemap image to be used. I have only looked at it for less than a day so I could just be missing something.
