Exporting model with texture

I've got a problem. I made a scene in 3Ds Max 2009, I assigned material and now i want to export model and material to 3DS format. I click on File - Export and I select 3DS format. When i export it and open in 3DsMax there's no texture. How can I export the model with texture??
