TXB slow and locking up
by Timothy Cash · in Torque X 2D · 08/05/2008 (2:15 pm) · 6 replies
I have TorqueX pro, Vista, and a Nvidia 8800gt... TXB2D locks up every time I move another window over it or try to import anything. I have to wait about 50 seconds every time I issue a command ( I got the not responding note at the top) and the screen does not refresh. What is goin on ?
TXB version 2.0 trial (do I have to buy TXB and TX Pro ?)
I have turned aero off on vista
I have updated all my drivers
also is there a way to import more than one material at a time?

And yes, TXB is a separate purchase.

What are you seeing in your console.log in the TXB directory. And yes, TXB is a separate purchase.

Curious, are you guys running with multiple monitors?

My setup:
GeForce 8800 GTS outputting to two DVI connected monitors @ 1440x900
GeForce 7100 onboard nForce 630i outputting one HDMI connected TV @ 1280x720
All the screens are independent so no mirroring etc.
If I run with both cards enabled (so output to three screens) and load TXB, it will stall, flicker, not respond, re-respond, flicker etc. Basically unusable and never gets to the main menu.
If I disable the 7100 then TXB will load ok.
I haven't tried dragging a window from the second monitor over the top of TXB so I don't know if that would cause me a problem.
Is there any way to get TXB to allow the secondary card to be enabled when running? Is this some OpenGL / DX issue?

I have found the TXB will not even load to the main menu (Create, Import, Open) unless I disable my secondary graphics card running graphics to my TV.My setup:

GeForce 7100 onboard nForce 630i outputting one HDMI connected TV @ 1280x720

I am thinking this is probably a legacy issue that evaded us during development and has probably been there forever. I will run it by the TGB/TXB devs and see what they say about it.
