How to pause A Animated Sprite on pathing Model

We are developing a game.
Unusually my character walk on a path with special degree.
So I draw a t2dPath and make it walk along it.
But how can I use TorqueScript to pause it when it is moving.
As I know it can stoped by collision objects.
Just the collision objects solutions.
Why not provide a method for t2dPath to solute this problem?
And anybody have good idea can tell me?
