TGB failure to completely load.

by Revisionary · in Torque Game Builder · 07/31/2008 (3:00 pm) · 1 replies

I have recently tried to install TGB on my home desktop running winxp32 with an 8800GTS video card, 4GB ram, and an intel E8400 (3GHZ) dual core cpu. After install, any attempt to launch TGB fails. Task manager shows TORQUE~1.EXE running at 50% (ie: one core running at 100), using roughly 8MB of memory. Any attempts to end the torque~1.exe process fail, and I am unable to shut down windows without resorting to a hard reset. I attempted to find this issue in the forums, but could not (is there a "problems with the editor area?).

It seems to run fine on my notebook, just not the desktop. I've actually reinstalled winxp today in an attempt to resolve the issue (problem persists), and could find nothing in the forums. Any suggestions / help would be greatly apreciated.

Update - in case someone else has the same issue: the source of the problem was isolated to my software firewall. Even when it is disabled, it was somehow interfering... I had to completely uninstall the firewall (Kerio) to get TGB to start.
