Max2DTSExporter - No nodes - 3ds Max 2009

I just got 3ds Max 2009 and got the latest Max2DTSExporter which DOES work for me... except for nodes.
It was a pain in the butt getting my textures to show up. The exporter only works with objects textured using "Standard" materials. I went to create one and the texture would not show up no matter what I did. Finally, I fired up the Torque DTS exporter, looked at the material manager, and from there I got the texture to show up by using THAT to apply the texture.
I also had a little trouble with sequences, but I believe the traditional method of creating a Generic DTS Shape->Sequence worked out ok.
Now, I am having troubles with Nodes and this one is really eluding me. I have tried creating my own dummy object and naming it 'eye' and 'mount0' accordingly, but in Torque Showtool, it shows NO nodes at all and using the object in game verifies that.
I tried using the node manager in the exporter and got no results at all. The nodes simply will not export.
Any ideas?
