www.badbumble.com/resources/GoGoDiggerLogo.jpgHello,
I'm Mike the artist & game designer that's working on GoGo Digger with Isaac.
I would also just like to recommend the game to anyone that likes logical puzzle style games. The game is kind of a cross between Mine Sweeper with a slight Dig-Dug feel to the game. I originally released the game on mobile phones a couple of years ago and I believe is still available, but we are releasing this greatly enhanced version for free as a thank you to all the people that have joined the BadBumble news letter.
www.badbumble.com/resources/ingame_orig.jpg I hope you will enjoy the game as it is very addictive once you start to get the feel for the game.
Finally I would just like to publicly thank Isaac for all the really hard work he has done on the project with me as he never seems to get tired and is always so enthusiastic and willing to change the tiniest little things in the game if he thinks it will make the game better.
So please, take a look at some of the early screen grabs and in a week or so time download the game and give it a try, as I'm sure you will like it.

Thank you,
Mike Moore

Not bad! I checked this out because I've been musing about doing a similar game myself. I'd say the biggest annoyance for me is that I simply can't hold down the arrow key and keep moving in a direction. I have to hit the button over and over. I'd rather it be smooth control.

Other than that, I'd say there's a good framework in place thus far.

Chris,

Thanks for your words :)

You know that some ideas come along only/until the game is finished/almost done and it has a high cost to make later changes you think aren't vital. But We will consider that for a sequel, if do that.

Hi Chris,
Another problem with been able to hold the button down to move is if your not careful, you will over shoot and run into a mine. That's still one of the main reasons I die now. I seem to think that I know where the mines will be from the numbers on display and try to run two squares at once without waiting to see if a number pops up and I run straight into a mine. Very annoying getting killed that way, but it's my own fault and I think been able to hold down a button would make this even worse for me, but it all depends on how you play the game I guess.
It's good to know that you like the game, thanks.

Yeah, that's the main reason I think the game can works that way. I believe that this is the way the game becomes puzzle. Other way it may be action/platformer and that is another story ;)

Thanks mike for the nice clarification

Haha great idea. I was pondering a mine digging game, but nothing like what you have. Minesweeperesque.. pretty cool. Kudos for finishing the thing!! Sweet!

Thanks for the kind comments from everyone. It's also available for the MAC now as well from the site www.badbumble.com and we hope to port it across to the iPhone when I manage to get my head around iTGB and OSX (I'm a Windows boy at heart), which I think will make a really nice iPhone game (it was actually released on the Nokia a few years ago (2003 / 2004)).
Any way, thanks again for the feed back we both really appreciate any feed back we get (good or bad).
All the best,

Mike

Thanks, Isaac and Mike, for keeping us updated on your game. I've updated the Powered by Torque page with your new URL. And let me know as you continue to create Torque games! d(^_^)b

I have played this game a few times.
Which is pretty bragable really since I rarely come back and play a casual game after trying the first time. One thing that could be really handy is a way to save the game. Maybe I missed that if it was in there.
Mostly I just wanted to give you some kudos for your hard work.

Thanks Nic,

That's the best feedback we can have :)

By the way, there is a secret level nobody knows about it: please left click over the red gem that is over the game title in the main menu. You will be greatly surprised with a bigger level!

And again, thanks for playing gogo digger. I feel motivated by your words.

Saving progress is not allowed. But you can start in advanced levels from the options menu. Saving will be allowed in gogo digger 2... if there is a gogo digger 2 someday.

Ah, see there you go! I didn't realize you could jump ahead. I must be one of those terrible, impulsive users that never bothers to read the menu: Click click.. "get it out get it out!!". Lol. Anyways, ill try and pace myself next time and maybe I'll read a word or two on my way :D.

Dare I suggest that you should be able to "unlock the harder levels" rather then skip them? Kind of a carrot on the stick sort of reward. ' Just another picky question from an already good game. '

Ha!

Thanks again Nic.

I guess that most of people do the same thing so don't worry.

The truth is that gogo digger would be greatly improved in a future version. This one was to see if Mike and me were able to work as a team. And the truth is that we are a great one and we are happy. We are working right now in a game that we hope to be a top notch one and that will greatly surprise the whole market.... and there will be more great game to come thanks to TGB technology.

We will take your suggestions into account for a future version.

Hi Nick,
Actually, that's how it is done. You can only play the higher levels once you have cleared them. We didn't want someone just jumping to level 30 on their first go, getting no where and quitting the game and never going back to it, as it can be a strange game to play if you have never played a mine sweeper style game before.
Just glad you like it and if you have any suggestions, feel free and let us know.

Cheers,
Mike

Yeah that totally makes sense. Some gamers simply can't help themselves, or might accidentally jump too far ahead stripping the fun out of it for them. Good design decision for sure. Any hints on your next project? I am finish up my first version of craclepop Arena myself and might be interested if there was extra room. The fact is I really have a problem finding artists to work with me on projects.

Hey Nic,

Your game looks pretty cool and fun!

Let's see what Mike says because him is the artist, I'm the programmer.

Hints on the next game: fun, addictive, nice looking and original.
