Possible Sequels / Spin-offs?

I once read in one of the chat logs that Realm Wars might be used as a base to create sequels, possibly futuristic games, as people sometimes don't care for magic and such.

I've adjusted the storyline to compensate (you can't really tell, since in order to understand you'd have to know the true history of the world and what will happen after Realm Wars, blah blah blah), but was wondering to what extent RW would go. Will the technology move up to modern day real-world equivilents such as rifles and tanks (sort of), and if it goes to that or beyond, will there still be races, "magic", etc? I've got about three ideas for that situation, but they all require a minor change or two to the current RW plot.

Right now, the way I forsee things happening is probably pretty open and can go whatever which way it needs to (if the plot is even accepted or used later), but who can say? I'm planning -and- curious here. :D

I think the basic idea is that the Realm Wars game will eventually be able to be modded into whatever people like, with some glue for presenting all the mods as a coherent game. It would be cool if it all fit together (like futuristic Orcs and such) but the details are just in peoples' imaginations right now.

Oh... well, that could be both good and bad. If there a lot of mods and play-styles out there on the servers, it's going to be hard to find a large number of players for a server (unless RW will be free-release and a large number of people download it).

In any case, yes, the story (if anyone even cares) is already set up for the possibility of moving into a more technological environment. I could explain the mods and such, but I think that'd be going a little too far with trying to explain the game.
