Can the exporter be extended by users with the HDK?

Does anyone know if the houdini dts exporter can be extended by users via the HDK. For example, I just recently found David Mathews' resource which adds morph functionality to the dtsSDK and engine, and I'd like to attempt to extend the houdini exporter to support this.
