It's been almost a month since Jon's last .plan post? Any update at all?
Any update on the book?
It's like waiting for a pot of water boil around here. This forum is dead.

Quick update... I'm told by the publisher that the book is on shelves on Labor Day. The 3D Builder is in Beta testing and a couple glitches are being worked out. I'll have to post a new plan/blog to bring everyone up to date.John K.

That seems to indicate it won't be out like next week or anything if an entire plan is required to bring everyone up to date. :)

The book is all done and out the door. The publisher is hard at work doing final layout and the printing/binding/shipping. I saw a comment from Davey Jackson somewhere with a URL for pre-release book orders as it hits shelves within the next 8 weeks.
The 3D Builder is finishing up nicely. An internal alpha version has been undergoing a lot of testing. Creating a fully functional 3D level designer is a really complicated task with a lot of pesky details. The hardest part has definitely been getting the axis gizmo tuned. Here's how it's looking at the moment, testing the shape scaling capability. This should be in public hands around the end of next month.
The engine has also been getting some updates as well; a lot based on bugs filed here in the forums. Support for L3DT Raw terrains, smoother deployment of 3D games to Xbox360, more public classes exposed, and some solid bug fixes have also been worked in. The next release will probably be coming with the 3D Builder.
Lastly, there's a lot of excitement coming up with Microsoft's Dream-Build-Play competition. I've heard about a lot of projects underway and have been asked for advice on all sorts of topics. If I can ever scrape together some time, I'll try to throw something together, too.
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment, did this just turn into a blog? ;) Sorry about that.
