Missing Particle Effects in tgb project

by Shaz · in Torque Game Builder · 06/14/2008 (6:30 pm) · 10 replies

The TGB 1.7.3 Feature tutorial on Mounting instructs to add a number of particle effects to the scene (using tgb project).

The particle effects are there, but with the exception of Wormhole and GGLogo, they don't do anything - they're empty. The effects have emitters, but all the images on the emitters are blank.

What's the best way of getting all these set up properly, and if I have to do it manually is there a list of which image belongs with each emitter?

Try this:

I had the same problem

Excellent find Learner, much thanks! I wonder why this isn't just added to the demo installer?

@toDD k. - Because I created that document after TGB 1.7.4 was released. I am not directly involved with the TGB demo and SDK build process, but I will inform the devs of the missing files.

Great thanks good to know. I'm having one more problem tho! After installing the new assets the particles are showing up in the viewport (icons & viewport fx). But when I run the file none of the placed particle fx are visible.

I have saved the scene, restarted TGB and tried it in openGL and D3D. Also, I installed the new assets by dragging and dropping them into the folder.

Did you edit the resourceDatabase.cs file that Learner wrote about at

http://www.garagegames.com/docs/tgb/official/content/documentation/Component%20Tutorials/Adding%20Assets/Using%20the%20Particles%20Resource.html

I tried this and it fixed everything. Very Very Very much appreciated! Thanks man!

I have tried these two links of this thread but they don't work.
Any idea to solve the missing particle effects?
