Monitor issue with new install of TGB

Just installed the newest version of TGB.
When I start the IDE my monitor goes to 800x600
and only shows a portion of the screen.
If I Alt+Tab to another application the monitor goes back to showing the normal
1280x1024 resolution.
It looks like TGB is running in window mode, which is what I want.
But you can only see a portion of the TGB IDE due to the odd resolution change and clipping.
I tried resinstalling TGB and updating my graphics drivers (NVIDIA 8800 GT)
Running on XP
Any ideas?
I have not had this issue with previous versions of TGB.

Torsion loads fine.

This is all involving the level editor. It does not seem to be loading into full screen because what I see is part of the level editor window. The run level button is cropped off because it goes into the smaller resolution mode.Torsion loads fine.

That happened to me a while back on 113 when I started messing with setScreenMode and/or setDisplayDevice. Have you guys been messing with those functions?
