V12 altitude question

I was thinking more about how i'm going to do my seemless zoning technique when an interesting question came to mind. now I really don't mean to annoy you ugys i'm jsut asking a simple question that users can test out in T2 even.
Now I know that how the terrain engine works is it takes each "tile" and repeats it over and over again, but what about vertically. Now there's no real way to test it going down but what happens when you go 2 kilometers up? Does the engine stop you and just leave you hanging untill you decide to come down (like a cieling in a room).

I'd have to agree with Brian. I know in Tribes 1 and Tribes 2 (yes different engines, but essentially same concept) you can set the values for the "flight ceiling" in the editor. How high can you set it? I dunno. I know I've set it pretty high before and never hit the proverbial "heavens", so to speak. I know in T1 the grid would bottom out where tiles would disappear at a certain depth. Haven't seen that in T2 though.
