Texture displaying glitch with cut brushes

by Christian Prahl · in Constructor · 06/07/2008 (7:58 pm) · 12 replies

See this picture

I guess it has something to do with the lighting itself. The brushes are not overlapping / placed in eachother.
Those are clean cuts.

Is there any way to fix this? ... might this be caused by my gfx card?

Constructor build 1.0.51

Thx in advance! :)

Is there a chance this texture issue? Have you tried replacing the textures with a 1x1 texture to see if the problem shows up?

Hey Brian, thx for replying.

Unfortunately this hasnt fixed the issue -> See here :(

I still think that the lighting is messed up since its getting darker at the edges.. no idea why tho :(

Your screencaps were taken in shaded mode, and I see some weird lighting there sometimes. Go to scene -> Manage Lighting Profiles, check off preview with sunlight, then go to mapped mode and relight. If you see oddities there, then it'll be a problem in-game.

The "preview with sunlight" option was uncheck by default.
I tried tooling around a bit with it and see the same results.

The textures are still like in the screens i provided above :\

No, I didn't want you to uncheck it, I wanted you to make sure it was checked, then relight and view it in mapped mode.

Ok, i made sure the box was check and relighted it and viewed it in mapped mode -> see pic

Hm. Strange. Seems better than the shaded version though, at least.

The only idea I have left is maybe problems with smoothing or something. :[

This is a known problem with lightmaps and smoothing. I'm sorry I can't give you more info on how to fix it, but you may want to try adjusting various lightmapping parameters.

I assume you mean the .. scene -> manage lighting profiles menu?

Well, that didnt fix it at all.. looking at it ingame, its even worse
