Constructor Tool Issue

Hi All,

I recently downloaded the free constructor and thought it was a great looking tool. At the moment I'm starting to prototype a game so I'm not looking for any polished up graphics just basic shapes so constructor looked like the app for the job however when I came to save some work by selecting the destination and the name for the file as soon as I hit the save button Constructor crashed completely each time I tried I even tried export and the same thing happened so I dloaded it a few more times and the same thing happened. I'm currently running on an AMD Apple dual 2GHz Power PC G5. Has anyone else had the same issue and if so how was it resolved.

Also at the moment the shapes I'm wanting to create are static 3d anyone know of any packages (affordable) that will work with torque. I have tried Blender but have been having issues with installing the DTS exporter. as the downloaded version of blender has no scripts directory, unless I'm missing something . . . but thats for another forum.

Oh well any advise would be welcomed

I never experienced that issue with constructor, it only occassionally crashed when my shape was very complicted and I made errors such as a shape that was concave.
When I learned to use Constructor even better I had no crashes at all.
I also use 3D World Studio, and export the map to Constructor to make more detailed changes that are simpler for me to do in Constructor.
I also use DeleD Pro for Torque. both DeleD Pro and 3DWS are less then $80 usd each.

It really depends on your comfort of a package and what your trying to do. Each has pluses and minuses.
There is a really Great site.. honestly, it is.. www.arteria-gaming.com/ that hosts Constructor tutorials at a very cheap price. The tutorials are narrated videos and it is explained step by step.
Following his tutorials you will have a completed dts by the end.
Stephen also provides some of those Tutorials for 3DWS if thats what you choose.

Very reasonable prices, great content, tutorials, and music. Though this new site he has is not completed.. I believe he is moving all his content over to it, so you might want to visit there daily.

Hope this helps.

I've been having the same issue. Constructor won't save or export, it crashes. I can't figure out why.

Have you updated to the latest version of Ctor? You can download it from TDN. It does not work on all Macs, though.
